Andrew Leah

Chad

Andrew attended Younstown State University, where he appeared in productions of Pirates of Penzance, and The Golden Apple. He then toured the country working as an electrician with Disney on Ice. When he isn't commuting from Pittsburgh to rehearsals at The Playhouse, Andrew is apprenticing with the IBEW Local Union #5. This is his first role on The Playhouse Stage.

Carla D. Gipson

Sylvia

Carla is a seasoned performer, having worked in theatres in the Mahoning Valley for more than 25 years. Carla's last performance was in The Playhouse's summer production of Blues in the Night. She received a Marquee Award for her role as "Mrs. Muller," in Doubt at The Oakland Center for the Arts. She has served on many backstage crews, as well as directing and writing. A licensed evangelist, Carla is the director in charge of drama ministry for her local and district church organization.

Mone Perry

Lorraine

Mone is a senior at Boardman High School and is making her Main Stage debut in All Shook Up. As a youngster, she appeared in several Playhouse Youth Theatre productions. She is excited to be part of the cast, and thanks her family and friends for their encouragement and support.

Rachel Rossi

Natalie/Ed

Rachel is a YSU graduate, where she performed in many productions, such as, Urinetown - The Musical, How to Succeed in Business, Without Really Trying, Suessical, The Musical, and Anything Goes. Her community theatre credits include Company and Noises Off at The Playhouse and Bat Boy, The Musical at The Oakland Center for the Arts. Her favorite Elvis song is "Can't Help Falling in Love."

Jason A. Green

Dennis

We congratulate Jason on his recent graduation from Youngstown State University, where he received his BS BA in Marketing Management and Advertising/ Public Relations. He is employed at R. L. Craig, Incorporated as Marketing Director. Last seen at The Playhouse as "Howard," in Moon Over Buffalo, Jason recently appeared as "Albert" in Bye Bye Birdie at TNT, "Seymour" in Little Shop of Horrors at Solon Center for the Arts, and "Cain" in Children of Eden at Kent State University - Trumbull. He serves on The Playhouse Board of Directors as Publicity Chairman. In his "spare time," Jason is in rehearsal for the upcoming Playhouse production of Dracula, in which he'll play "Renfield."

Amariah McIntosh

Henrietta, Warden

Native of New York City and graduate of Indiana University where she was a featured soloist in the acclaimed Indiana University Soul Revue. She has been active in music for most of her life singing in and directing choirs in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, as well as performing in religious plays. Amariah was last seen at The Playhouse in Blues in the Night. One of Amariah's most memorable musical experiences was directing The International Mass Choir at The World Methodist Evangelism Institute in June, 1997. Amariah has been in Youngstown since August, 2008 serving as Pastor of Phillips Chapel CME Church.

Tom O'Donnell

Tom has a long history of theatre in the Youngstown area, having appeared in countless productions at The Playhouse, Oakland Center for the Arts, Kent State Trumbull, YSU, Easy Street Productions, and most recently in Tartuffe at the Victorian Players. Tom is grateful to see The Playhouse operating once again and wishes to thank and congratulate Dr. John Cox and his committee members for "stepping up to the plate to carry on a Youngstown tradition!" He is also happy to be working again with his great friend and former co-star, Mary Ruth Lynn, and says "It's amazing! After 25 years neither of us have changed. We do creek a little more, and have trouble digesting raw vegetables, but other than that..." Tom is a licensed professional therapist, and does home counseling for Child and Family Services in Niles, Ohio.

Susan Ivan Prosser

Matilda

Susan Ivan Prosser is a second generation Playhouse performer. Her mother, the vivacious and talented Arlene Ivan, can be remembered for her many roles in musical theatre productions on our stage. All Shook Up marks Susan's second show at The Youngstown Playhouse. Last season , she was seen as "Sara" in Company. She also recently completed a run at Salem Community Theatre as "Jack's Mother" in Into the Woods. Along with her many stage appearances, Susan is an active member of St. Christine Parish, and performs at Christmas time with the musical group, "The Chords of Christmas." She is employed at First Place Bank, and lives with her family in Cornersburg.

Ken Stiver

Earl

Ken was last seen on The Playhouse stage in productions of Beauty and the Beast and Titanic the Musical. He is an active member of his church band, and is a Boy Scout leader. Ken is employed as a lead maintenance man by the city of Struthers.

Zach O'Connor

Dean

Zach is thrilled to be in his first production at The Playhouse. He is a student at Westminister College, where he is majoring in theatre and business administration. His recent credits include the role of "Gaston" in Beauty and the Beast at Field High School and "Gordon /The Man" in Rent at The Fairmont Performing Arts Conservatory. He thanks his family for their love and support.

Stacy Coffee-Keenan

Sandra

Stacy is a busy mother of five, a paralegal at the law firm of Fitch, Kendall, Cecil, Robinson and Barry Co., LTD in Salem, Ohio and still manages to turn in outstanding performances in many area community theatres. Her long list of credits include roles in Babes in Arms, Music Man, 110 Degrees in the Shade, Oklahoma, A Christmas Carol, and Anne of Green Gables.

Dylan White

Fella, Bus Driver/Ensemble

Dylan was recently seen as "Balthazar" in Romeo and Juliet at The Ohio Shakespeare Festival, "Puck" in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Weathervane Playhouse and young "Macduff" in Macbeth at The Great Lakes Theatre Festival. He has also racked up an impressive number of credits in film, television, modeling and recorded an audio book.

Jill Cataldi

Jill is a graduate of YSU with a degree in secondary mathematics education. She currently works as an online math tutor. Previously she has appeared in Beauty and the Beast and Titanic the Musical here at The Youngstown Playhouse and is thrilled to be a part of All Shook Up.

Carly Carano

Carly is a Junior at Cardinal Mooney High School, where she is a member of the Speech Team. She has appeared in Li'l Abner, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and Once Upon a Mattress.

Rebecca DiPetro

Rebecca has had a passion for theatre since she was a youngster, appearing in church and school productions. She has been seen at The Playhouse in Beauty and the Beast; at Top Hat in Aladdin and Aida and in Easy Street's High School Musical. She wishes to thank her parents for their continuing support and encouragement.

Jessica Edwards

Jessica is thrilled to be making her stage debut at The Playhouse, and thanks her directors, cast and crew for making the experience so much fun. She recently performed in Into the Woods at Fairmount Performing Arts Academy and is a Senior at Rootstown High School. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the guitar and doing volunteer work.

Jason Alan Matthews

Jason began his stage career at an early age, when he starred in an elementary school production, as either "a dew drop or a tree." He joined the cast of All Shook Up when he lost a "beer pong" bet with his friend, Kelsey Reardon. We are so glad to welcome him as a member of The Playhouse Family.

Kelsey Lane Reardon

Kelsey started singing and dancing when she was in preschool. She started in the theatre when she was in high school and did shows such as Hamlet and How To Succeed In Business, Without Really Trying. She attended YSU for 3 years and was a member of the YSU dance team.

Becca Kopchak

Stage Manager

Becca is rejoining The Playhouse family after several years absence, during which she was the resident stage manager for the Harvest Theatre in Toledo, Ohio. She has worked in virtually every area of theatre; from performing to orchestra, to technical crew and box office. Some of Becca's credits include Jekyll and Hyde, and Nunsense at The Playhouse; and Footloose at both Ballet Western Reserve and Cardinal Mooney High School. Becca's favorite Elvis song is "Burnin' Love!"

Nicole Caravella

Choreographer

Nicole comes to the Playhouse with 21 years of dance experience in jazz, hip-hop, tap and musical theatre. She choreographed several musicals for Union High School, and was nominated for a Henry Mancini Award for her work in Pajama Game. Nicole is a former member of the La Roche College Dance Team, and The Lady Steelhounds Dance Team. She also coached and choreographed work for Union Middle School and taught at a New Castle based dance studio for 4 years. She holds a BS BA degree in Marketing Management and Advertising/Public Relations from YSU., and is employed as a marketing assistant at The Children's Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center.

Gary Kekel

Music Director

A Salem native, Gary Kekel has been a life-long musician. As a music education major at Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University, he studied trumpet under Esotto Pellegrini. He then entered the entertainment business and the world of performance in many configurations. Gary has enjoyed a life-long career that has showcased his talents vocally, as well as on a variety of instruments. After leaving YSU, his arranging and conducting skills earned him the position of Music Director for recording star Maureen McGovern for several years. While with Maureen, he performed with Bob Hope, Tony Bennett, and Harry Chapin and on national TV shows. He has also toured with a number of show bands, as well as entertaining in duos, trios and as a solo act, here in Ohio, Philadelphia, and while living in Florida. Currently he operates Mainsail Music & Audio Production in Canfield, Ohio with his wife Cheryl, and is active in diversified music projects throughout the region. Locally, he has been Music Director for the Salem Community Theatre, The Youngstown Playhouse, Ballet Western Reserve, YSU Theatre department, and the Oakland Center for the Arts for numerous productions.

Mary Ruth Lynn

Director

Mary Ruth has been involved in all aspects of community theatre for over 44 years. Having just returned from living in New Hampshire, she is excited about coming back to The Youngstown Playhouse where patrons may remember her performances in Jacques Brel, Luv, and The Seven Year Itch. While in New Hampshire, Mary Ruth helped The Garrison Players through the restoration of an historic grange into a working theatre by co-chairing a $500,000 fundraising campaign. She served as board president throughout the next four years in the new venue. During that time, Mary Ruth garnered several distinguished awards for directing. Today, The Garrison Players Arts Center is in its 6th season as a fiscally sound and award winning theatre. She hold both a B.M. and a M.M. degree from Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University and recently retired after 34 years of public school teaching. Mary Ruth and her husband, Frank, reside in Boardman.
