Community supports community theatre

While we have survived the economic hardships seen in the industry over the last several years, we continue to recover from the impact of the pandemic on the arts and culture sector. The support of our donors has been more important than ever during these challenging times. Since income from ticket sales covers only 35% of our operating costs, the Youngstown Playhouse relies on philanthropic support to provide community theatre as well as community outreach and educational programming.

As we approach our 100th Anniversary, The Youngstown Playhouse is committed to its mission of presenting quality theatre arts performances, providing educational initiatives, and establishing and maintaining community partnerships.

PLAYHOUSE COLLABORATES FOR VIRTUAL HOLIDAY CONCERT

Youngstown, OH — The Youngstown Playhouse will present a virtual special event in partnership with New Castle Playhouse, Area Community Theatre of Sharpsville, Greenville Area Community Theatre and Red Barn Players, under the leadership of the Community Foundation of Western PA and Eastern OH. Since COVID-19 struck in March 2020, theatres have been unable to present live performances and are hurting financially without revenue from ticket sales. This collaborative effort will allow theatres to raise funds while sharing talents from their respective organizations.
