A message from
The Youngstown Playhouse Board President
Dr. John Cox
Dear Playhouse patron,
I hope this letter finds all of you well during these difficult times. Due to the Governor's order limiting mass gatherings, we have decided to cancel our remaining 2019-2020 season. Our top priority continues to be the health and well-being of our staff, our Youngstown Playhouse theatregoers and the hundreds of people who volunteer at the Playhouse, including actors, musicians, stagehands, ushers, and many other dedicated theatre lovers. We will continue to monitor government restrictions and will advise ticket holders as soon as we know what those restrictions may be.
If you still have seats remaining on your current Flex Pass, don’t worry. They will automatically be added on for next season's shows. Please visit our Facebook page if you have questions. So, to our audiences, we miss you! To our performers, I know you miss the stage. Stay active on social media. Continue to hone your craft. Entertainment is vital. Especially during a pandemic.
As a non-profit, we count on you to survive. Right now, we want you all to survive. As a Board, we will be focusing on Grants to help us get through this period. WE are going to do whatever it takes to keep Art alive in Youngstown. I hope you will do the same. The crowdfunding site Gofundme launched the #GivingTuesdayNow Match Program to give every non- profit the opportunity to rally support for its cause in the face of COVID-19. We join with artists, theatre professionals, and fans worldwide, in looking forward to the time when we can once again experience live theatre together. Please stay safe. Stay healthy.
